Samba Badji Debuts with Exciting Research

Samba Badji, DDMAC team member and researcher, has published his first journal article in Media and Communication. The research, titled “An Exploratory Study of Fact-Checking Practices in Conflict and Authoritarian Contexts“, explores fact-checking practices in Ethiopia and Mali in times of conflict under restricted press freedom. The paper was co-authored by fellow DDMAC members Bruce Mutsvairo and Kristin Skare Orgeret. You can find the paper here.

Samba also co-authored a chapter in the recently released book Trust under Threat Challenges in a Digital Society. He gained insights on perceptions of audience trust among Malian fact-checkers, together with Nelson Bahati. You can find the open access chapter here.

Congratulations to Samba on these two impressive releases!
