Modibo Galy Cissé

Modibo Galy Cissé is a researcher and coordinator of the project’s collaboration with Voice4Thought in Mali. He holds a MA in sociology and a postgraduate degree in anthropology. Currently, he is a teacher at the Faculty of Human Sciences and Educational Sciences at a public university in Bamako. Moreover, as a PhD candidate at Leiden University, he works on security and community issues in the Central Delta of the Niger River in Mali, a region of conflict related to terrorism and jihadism. Modibo has long been ingaged in several qualitative research projects on conflict and resources in Mali. For this reason, he is passionate about DDMAC’s aim to understand how people’s digital media practices inform local conditions and conflict dynamics on the ground.
