Kristin Skare Orgeret and her colleague Julie Posetti reflect on this year’s peace prize, awarded to Maria Ressa and Dmitry Muratov for their “efforts to safeguard freedom of expression, which is a precondition for democracy and lasting peace.” The awarding of this price is symbolically important seeing the pollution of public spheres by disinforming and misinforming accounts, as well as the hateful attacks journalists receive.
