DDMAC team publishes article on the future of disinformation studies

On May 25th 2022, a pre-conference at Sciences Po in Paris was held, where scholars came to discuss the question: “What comes after disinformation studies?” As a result a special issue, edited by Alice Marwick, Shannon McGregor, and Elaine Schnabel, has been issued.

DDMAC members Bruce Mutsvairo, Luca Bruls, Mirjam de Bruijn, and Kristin Skare Orgeret contribute with an article titled “Factforward”: Foretelling the Future of Africa’s Information Disorder. Based on expert interviews, the article introduces the concept factforward to address experts’ hope for a future with less disinformation. Moreover, the scholars discuss the current conditions characterizing the information disorder across the African mediasphere and the relationship to conflict specifically.
