Project team
Who we are
The team behind the DDMAC project is based in Mali, Ethiopia, Norway and the Netherlands. Current project members (in alphabetical order) are:
Mulatu Alemayehu
Mulatu Alemayehu Moges is an established researcher of online media in Ethiopia, where he currently works as an assistant professor at Addis Ababa University.
Mirjam de Bruijn
Mirjam de Bruijn coordinates the research of social media use and networks. She is Professor in African studies at the History Institute and African Studies Center Leiden University.
Luca Bruls
Luca Bruls is a junior researcher in the DDMAC project. She holds a BA in Arabic Language, a BA in Cultural Anthropology and a ResMA in Middle Eastern Studies.
Modibo Galy Cissé
Modibo Galy Cissé is a researcher and coordinator of the project’s collaboration with Voice4Thought in Mali.
Kristin Skare Orgeret
Kristin Skare Orgeret Dr.Art. is the project leader of the DDMAC project. She is Professor in Journalism and Media Studies at OsloMet University in Norway, where she co-heads the research group MEKK (Media, War and Conflict).
Daniel Thilo Schroeder
Daniel Thilo Schroeder is a researcher focusing on computational methods in the project.
Samba Dialimpa Badji
Samba Dialimpa Badji is a Research Fellow in the DD-MAC project and PhD candidate at Oslomet University.
